The Waste Reduction Website is operated by the Environmental Protection Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The Waste Reduction Website is a one-stop source of information about waste generation, reduction, recycling and management in Hong Kong.

Waste reduction is often associated with recycling, but there is much more to the issue than that. Avoiding the generation of waste in the first place and minimising waste are also central to any waste reduction strategy. This website aims to promote community participation in reducing, reusing and recycling waste. Timely information and education materials will be posted for the general public, students, businesses, public agencies and the recycling trade on such topics as reducing consumption, preventing waste generation, purchasing more environmentally friendly products, and recovering products and materials for reuse and recycling.
