GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme and Mobile App
Overview
To encourage the public to engage in clean recycling through Environmental Protection Department (EPD)'s community recycling facilities, the EPD has introduced the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme under the Smart Recycling System. This scheme is applicable across all GREEN@COMMUNITY recycling facilities in Hong Kong.
When submitting recyclables at community recycling network, the public only needs to use the GREEN$ Mobile App or present their GREEN$ physical card to earn GREEN$ Points. These points can then be redeemed for gifts, thereby enhancing public environmental awareness and promoting waste reduction and recycling as a daily habit. Gifts include daily necessities, groceries, and environmentally friendly products. Public can also choose to donate their points to designated charities to help those in need.
the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme (GREEN$ ePIS) will be further digitised through linking with the electronic payment platform since May 4, 2026, AlipayHK, making it more convenient and flexible for citizens to use their recycling points in their everyday life, thus truly embed recycling into daily routines.

How to earn GREEN$ Points
To earn GREEN$, members of the public can present the QR code generated by the GREEN$ Mobile App or the QR code printed on the back of the GREEN$ card when submitting recyclables. GREEN$ Points can be redeemed for gift items provided by the EPD.

How to redeem GREEN$ rewards
Members can also redeem gift items with assistance from the staff at GREEN@COMMUNITY.
To cater for the needs of different members of the public, one physical gift redemption point will be retained in each of the 18 districts across Hong Kong, making a total of 18 locations throughout the territory. Residents of the outlying islands (including Cheung Chau, Peng Chau and Lamma Island) can continue to redeem physical gifts at their respective Recycling Spots.

GREEN$ x Carbon Wallet Pilot Collaboration Program
GREEN$ has launched a pilot collaboration program with MTR's carbon emission reduction reward platform "Carbon Wallet". Members using the GREEN$ mobile app can convert their GREEN$ points to "Carbon Wallet" points to redeem rewards including free single journey MTR tickets. GREEN$ x MoneyBack Point Conversion
GREEN$ has introduced a new e-point conversion feature through a pilot program in collaboration with the AS Watson's reward platform "MoneyBack". Members using the GREEN$ mobile app can convert their GREEN$ points to "MoneyBack" points, which can be directly redeemed at over 500 associated outlets, including supermarket, personal care stores, and electric appliance stores etc. Click here to view more details about e-point conversion.
GREEN$ x A. Point Conversion
Starting from May 4, 2026, GREEN$ points can be instantly converted into AlipayHK’s points for use as cash or redeeming coupons, which will be applicable to daily life scenarios of online shopping, bill payments, transportation, retail, and dining, etc. Together with the existing platforms, namely Carbon Wallet and MoneyBack, GREEN$ points can be used at more than 150,000 merchants across Hong Kong. This can achieve a high degree of integration between recycling rewards and smart technologies, making environmental rewards aligned more with citizens’ everyday needs.
