Kowloon Bay Plastic Sorting Centre (Not in operation)
Kowloon Bay Plastic Sorting Centre
Since mid 2017, the Plastic Sorting Centre had been acting as an interim support measure to collect, sort and recycle waste plastic. Followed by preliminary process such as sorting and baling, the waste plastic will be sent to downstream recyclers for recycling. The contract for this project expired in June 2018 to meet the planned long-term use of the site. Upon the completion of the contract of the centre, the Environmental Protection Department will continue to promote the recycling and education work of waste plastic in the community, such as launching a new round of the clean recycling publicity campaign, setting up an outreach team to strengthen on-site recycling support through outreaching services, introduction of a new pilot district collection service for waste plastic bottles etc.
