SGREEN x We-recycle@School Inter-school Recycling Competition

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) continues to collaborate with “Ocean Park Conservation Alliance” in the 2025/26 school year on “SGREEN x We-recycle@School Inter-school Recycling Competition”. Apart from encouraging students to practise clean recycling actively in schools, we would like them to bring relevant messages to their family members and the communities, and invite their family members to visit GREEN@COMMUNITY recycling facilities to practise clean recycling.
The competition is divided into “School Group” and “Parent-child Group”. Schools, students and families with outstanding performance will receive prizes.

Competition Process
1. Becoming a GREEN$ Member
Student and their family members can sign up as GREEN$ member to enjoy one-stop recycling, points collection and gift redemption.
2. Enroll
Students are required to click this link or scan the school-specific QR code (to be distributed by schools) to enter the registration website, submit their personal data and GREEN$ membership numbers for enrolment during 1 October 2025 and 30 April 2026 (competition period).
Each student can register “GREEN$” membership numbers of up to five family members to compete for the “Best Participating Family Award”.
3. Recycle at Community Recycling Facilities of the EPD
Students and/or family members can use the smart recycling facilities (smart recycling bins and smart balances) of the GREEN@COMMUNITY community recycling network (including Recycling Stations, Recycling Stores and Recycling Spots), as well as smart recycling bins and smart food waste recycling bins to practise clean recycling.
Upon recycling, simply present the GREEN$ mobile app or GREEN$ physical membership card to record the visit time and recyclables quantity. (Note: If participants recycle regulated electrical equipment at GREEN@COMMUNITY or food waste at food waste smart bins, only recycling days will be counted in these awards but not the corresponding recycling quantity.)
4. Evaluate Recycling Performance
Students and/or their family members only need to complete the enrolment procedures according to step (2) within the competition period. All recycling data during the competition period will be used to calculate and determine the winners of the relevant awards.
- Weight and record the recyclables (including plastics, metals, waste papers and other recyclables)
- Submit the recyclable quantity records once every academic term (1-12 December 2025 for first term and 1-15 May 2026 for second term) via the online platform of “Ocean Park Conservation Alliance”. Those records can be recyclable quantity record forms provided by contractors after on-site recycling, or the records shown in GREEN$ app after recycling at GREEN@COMMUNITY outlets by schools
