Students and/or family members can use the smart recycling facilities (smart recycling bins and smart balances) of the GREEN@COMMUNITY community recycling network (including Recycling Stations, Recycling Stores and Recycling Spots), as well as smart recycling bins and smart food waste recycling bins to practise clean recycling.

Upon recycling, simply present the GREEN$ mobile app or GREEN$ physical membership card to record the visit time and recyclables quantity. (Note: If participants recycle regulated electrical equipment at GREEN@COMMUNITY or food waste at food waste smart bins, only recycling days will be counted in these awards but not the corresponding recycling quantity.)

4. Evaluate Recycling Performance
Students and/or their family members only need to complete the enrolment procedures according to step (2) within the competition period. All recycling data during the competition period will be used to calculate and determine the winners of the relevant awards.

Assessment Criteria:

  • For students who register on the registration website of "Parent-child Group", the total recycling days and total recycling quantity (Note 1) of their own and all their family members' GREEN$ membership numbers will be converted into recycling points according to the following method for the purpose of determining the award ranking:
    (1) Recycling day score = (number of recycling days of participating students and their families / total number of competition days) × 50;
    (2) Recycling quantity score = (total recycling quantity of participating students and their families / highest recycling weight among all participants) × 50;
    (3) Total recycling points = the sum of the scores obtained in parts (1) and (2).

    For example: From 1 October 2025 to 30 April 2026, there were 212 competition days, and the participating family with the highest total recycling quantity is 600 kg. A family visited the GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities for a total of 200 days and recycled a total of 500 kg of recyclables. This household can obtain the following recycling points:
    (1) Recycling day score = (200/212) × 50 = 47.17 points;
    (2) Recycling weight score = (500/600) × 50 = 41.67 points;
    (3) Total recycling points = 88.84 points.

  • Each participating student and his/her family members can visit different GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities as many times as they wish for recycling on the same day, but the total visits of all persons on that day will only be counted once in total.

  • Regardless of enrolment time, the total recycling quantity during the entire competition period will be counted.
  • The top 15 students in the Secondary School Sector and Primary School Sector who record the highest total recycled quantity during the competition period will be awarded prizes.
