We-recycle@School 2025/26 School Year Reward Activities

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) will launch the "Community Recycling Facilities Experience and Reward Activity for Schools" on 1 October 2025 to encourage schools to deliver collected recyclables to GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities or local recycler. Additionally, the "GREEN@COMMUNITY School Recycling Education Activity" encourages schools to organise student visits to GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities and participate in recycling, with a view to educating students about community recycling facilities and clean recycling practices. Participating schools that complete registration and meet activity requirements will receive a designated number of Big Waster accessories cum RPET eco-bag as rewards.

Promotion Period

(1) Community Recycling Facilities Experience and Reward Activity for Schools


Introduction

During the promotion period, schools that collect and deliver at least 50 kg of recyclables from school to a recycler or GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities, and upload recycling records and photos to the We-recycle@School online registration form, will receive Big Waster accessories cum RPET eco-bags.

Eligibility
  • Participation is limited to one time per school.
  • The quota is limited to 100 schools, on a first-come, first-served basis
Details of the Activity

1. The activity aims to encourage students to recycle at school (e.g., organise inter-class recycling competitions) and encourage schools to utilise the community recycling facilities.

2. During the promotion period, schools must collect and deliver at least 50 kg of recyclables by:
(a) Arranging private recyclers for regular collection (refer to Hong Kong Collector/ Recycler Directory”); and/or
(b) Registering for the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme, and taking the recyclables directly to GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities for recycling.

3. Complete the online registration form by 30 June 2026:

(a) Upload at least 2 photos of collected recyclables; and
(b) Upload copies of private recycler records during the promotion period; and/or
(c) Register the GREEN$ membership number used for this activity (up to 2 accounts per school).

Prizes

Upon receiving the registration, the EPD will verify the application submitted by the school. Schools meeting the requirements will receive 180 nos. of Big Waster accessories cum RPET eco-bag. Rewards are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.



(2) GREEN@COMMUNITY School Recycling Education Activity


Introduction

Schools can apply to visit designated GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities during the promotion period and recycle at least 2 kg of recyclables collected from school for recycling via a GREEN$ account on the visit day. Participants will receive Big Waster accessories cum RPET eco-bags.

Eligibility
  • Participation is limited to six times per school.
Activities

1. Complete the online registration form to apply for visit to designated GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities. Maximum group sizes are 30 teachers/students for Recycling Stations and 15 for Recycling Stores in general.

2. On the visit day, teachers and students shall bring at least 2 kg of recyclables collect from school and recycle them at that GREEN@COMMUNITY facility using a GREEN$ account

3. After recycling, present one GREEN$ account with recycling record of at least 2 kg recycled on that day to GREEN@COMMUNITY staff to receive prizes.

Prizes

Each attending teacher/student will receive one Big Waster accessories cum RPET eco-bags. Prizes are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Terms and Conditions
(1) Community Recycling Facilities Experience and Reward Activity for Schools
  • Participation is limited to one time per school with a total quota of 100 schools, on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Recyclables delivered directly to GREEN@COMMUNITY facilities for recycling must be recorded via the GREEN$ app, and the membership number must be registered in the online registration form. The EPD will count the recycling records for the registered membership numbers during the promotion period.
  • The recycling records and photos submitted to the online registration form must be authentic; violators will be disqualified.
  • The EPD will contact successful schools within 2 months after the submission date to arrange prizes collection.
  • Prizes are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The EPD has the right to distribute other prizes in substitution of Big Waster accessories cum RPET eco-bags.
  • Prizes cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash or other goods/services. The EPD will not compensate for lost or stolen rewards.
  • The EPD reserves the right to interpret, modify, cancel, or suspend the activity, its terms, rewards, or arrangements without prior notice.
(2) GREEN@COMMUNITY School Recycling Education Activity
  • Participation is limited to six times per school.
  • Schools shall pre-register using the online registration form at least three weeks before the earliest proposed visit date. The EPD will notify school of the application result in writing approximately two weeks prior the proposed visit date.
  • Maximum group sizes are 30 teachers/students for Recycling Stations and 15 for Recycling Stores in general. Schools can refer to the GREEN@COMMUNITY page for lists of Recycling Stations and Recycling Stores; some facilities are not open for this activity, please check the online registration form for details.
  • To cancel a visit, schools shall notify the EPD at least three working days in advance.
  • If a No. 3 or higher tropical cyclone warning, red/black rainstorm warning, or "extreme conditions" is issued during the activity, it may be suspended based on actual weather conditions. If such warnings are issued or remain in effect within 3 hours before the activity, it will be cancelled. Schools can contact the EPD to arrange an alternative visit.
  • Teachers/students shall present one GREEN$ account with recycling record of at least 2 kg recycled on that day to receive one prize per attendee, up to the group size limit or actual no. of attendees, whichever is lower. Prizes are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The EPD has the right to distribute other prizes in substitution of Big Waster accessories cum RPET eco-bags.
  • Prizes cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash or other goods/services. The EPD will not compensate for lost or stolen rewards.
